Chapter Philanthropy
As one of the Greek pillars, we value philanthropy and enjoy using our time to give back to the community. Our chapter and it's members are constantly involved in community service projects and organizations, but we have three main events each year: Kappa Karnival, Kappa Con Queso, and Kakes for Kids.
Kappa Karnival
In the fall, we hold a carnival event at a local elementary school to raise awareness about the importance of reading. The Delta Omicron chapter collects books and uses them as prizes for the children that attend our Kappa Karnival. In attendance, the kids play games with the women and receive the books as prizes!
Kappa Con Queso
In addition to Kappa Karnival, we host an all-you-can eat nacho bar and invite friends and family to join us in raising money for Reading is Fundamental.
Kakes for Kids
In the spring, we hold a pancake breakfast called Kakes for Kids to raise money for the Iowa State Dance Marathon, an event where all students raise money for the Children's Miracle Network and then celebrate by staying on their feet for 12 hours straight. Many of our members participate in this event as another way to give back to our community.
